CHSPE
California High School Proficiency Examination
📋 About the CHSPE
The California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) is a voluntary test for California residents that allows eligible individuals to earn a Certificate of Proficiency, which is legally equivalent to a high school diploma in California. Unlike the GED, the CHSPE is designed for students who want to leave high school early to pursue work, college, or other opportunities. Passing the CHSPE allows students as young as 16 (or who have completed 10th grade) to legally exit the K-12 system. The test covers English-Language Arts and Mathematics.
