The Praxis tests are a series of standardized assessments developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and used for teacher licensure and certification across the United States. The Praxis series includes Praxis Core (basic academic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics), Praxis Subject Assessments (content knowledge in 90+ specific teaching areas), and Praxis Content Knowledge for Teaching. Required by most U.S. states, the Praxis tests ensure that educators have the knowledge and skills necessary for effective teaching.
